Liberty Technology Park reaches a 90% occupancy rate, as it attracts new tenants

Liberty Technology Park in Cluj has reached a 90% occupancy rate after the technological project has attracted new tenants. Among the new companies to be found here are: Arvato Romania, Altran Romania, Banca Transilvania and SmartUp.

Less than a year after the completion of work, the second phase of the project is occupied by 90%. Contact-center type service provider Arvato, owned by German media group Bertelsmann, expanded its operation in Romania by opening the new support center at Liberty Technology Park Cluj, where the company occupies 1,700 sqm, and wants to hire 200 foreign language speakers (English, Dutch, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish) by the end of the year.

Another new resident of the park is Altran, a company specialized in high-tech engineering, which plans to focus in the followinf years on R&D in order to expand its range of solutions in new industries on the automotive and aerospace industry.

Halcyon Mobile, the first resident of the technology park, has doubled the number of employees in two years of work, and as a result the company moved into a 800 sqm space in D building. The space previously occupied in C building by Halcyon will be taken over in the following period by the Digital Banking Division of Banca Transilvania. On the list of new arrivals there is also SmartUp, an innovative digital platform for education and development launched in the UK.

The technology park has scored a new portfolio success: the Planable project, developed by three young people from Republic of Moldova in the Spherik Accelerator, has won the Startup Avalanche competition within Techsylvania and it will be presented in Silicon Valley.

Liberty Technology Park Cluj was launched in the autumn of 2013 and has delivered over 16,750 sqm of Class A office spaces on the local market, following an investment of over 13 millions.

The project is a Fribourg Capital initiative, under the patronage of businessman Ion Sturza. Among its residences there are: Halcyon Mobile (IT), Spherik Accelerator, Siemens (IT), Recall Information Services (IT), Control Data Systems (IT), KPMG (Accounting and Business), La Casa (Restaurant), Makronetz (IT), Ecuson Studio (Web & Branding), Regal Beloit Romania (Mk), Liberty Fitness (Gym), Luminos Software (IT), Voquz (IT), Impact Hub (Community & Business) and the most recent ones: SmartUp (IT), Altran Romania and Arvato Bertelsmann (Contact centers).
